President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has fled Sri Lanka in a protection force jet, amid mass protests over the island’s financial crisis.
The country’s air force confirmed the 73-year-feeble flew to the Maldives alongside with his partner and two safety officers.
The president has appointed Top Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe as performing president.
Mr Wickremesinghe declared a convey of emergency and urged the protection force to revive stammer, as protesters stormed his location of job and demanded that he also resign.
